Sacred Heart School is a Voluntary Secondary School for girls situated in Westport, Co Mayo. The school has been part of the town for over 80 years and is constantly enriched by its interaction with the local community of Westport and the surrounding area. Inspired by the vision of Catherine McAuley, founder of the Mercy order and continued by our Trustees, CEIST, Sacred Heart School is committed to a holistic education in the Catholic tradition.

Our school is committed to providing the best possible education for all our students as a community of learners: showing respect, tolerance and care, valuing and celebrating diversity and creativity, and actively promoting inclusion for all. We are dedicated to creating a happy, safe and orderly learning environment, where our students can develop into self motivated young people.

We are proud of the ethos of our school, the broad curriculum we offer, our excellent academic results and our exceptional array of extracurricular activities. We have high expectations of all of our students and proudly celebrate their wide-ranging achievements. We are especially proud of the atmosphere of trust, support and mutual respect which is evident in the school. Our code of discipline and respect, anti bullying and pastoral care policies exist to ensure that this is maintained. We aim, with support of all the school community and parents, to have your daughters leave school as happy, confident, enquiring young women, determined to reach their potential, to excel in whatever they do and destined to make a positive contribution to the world.
