Pastoral Care

“Encouraging creativity and embracing diversity in a positive learning environment”

Class Advisor

Each class is assigned a Class Advisor. The Class Advisor meets their class group to ensure a positive happy working atmosphere within the class group and to deal with any concerns of individual students.

Year Head

Each year group is assigned a Year Head. The Year Head, in conjunction with the Class Advisor, monitors the overall progress of the student and is available as a contact for parents if required.

Care Team

This is made up of our school lay chaplain, guidance counsellor and our Special Needs co-ordinator who work in conjunction with the Year Heads, Class Advisors, teachers and management to deal with the pastoral care needs of the school.

Mentoring System

First year students are assigned a mentor. This is a senior student who has taken part in mentor training and who will meet the students on a regular basis to help and support them as they settle into school. The mentoring system also provides an opportunity for senior students to develop leadership skills and to be a role model for their fellow students.

Teachers

All teachers are committed to the well being of their class. The working environment of the classroom is one of mutual respect, trust and care.

Parents

Our pastoral care system is based on the principle of a working partnership between parents and school.
